What makes Vail, Colorado a community — and not just a resort town? It could be the access to the arts or the strong school systems. Maybe it’s the number of year-round residents (like us) who work and play together. 

Or maybe it’s the number of public parks and open spaces that rounds out the small-town community feel.

The town of Vail has many well-maintained parks, gardens and open spaces. These public areas are perfect for everything from playground days to picnics. We built a map and wrote about some of our favorite local parks to help you plan the perfect Vail day — and really feel part of our community.

May was the best real estate month of the year with $212M in total dollar volume and 193 transactions. Both are month highs for 2018, bringing the total transactions year to date to 812 (10% above last year) and $876,854,582 in total dollar volume (down 5% from last year).

The down valley market of Eagle and Gypsum had nearly 1/3 of all transactions in May with 57. Avon also had a strong month with 18 sales and Edwards had 13. Vail Village had 9 sales that averaged $5M totaling $44,838,750 in dollar volume.

The high end market was strong in May with 6 sales over $5M. The highest being a new construction sale in Spraddle Creek selling for $18,500,000. This equates to a price per square foot of $1,514. The highest PPSF for the month was a Solaris penthouse
