Vail Ski Resort Opening Day will take place on Friday, Nov. 16. Opening Day is always a fun celebration, with people coming from around Colorado in anticipation of a great ski season ahead.

Epic ski passes for the 2018-19 season, which give access to many ski resorts in the Vail / Beaver Creek area, are on sale until Nov. 18, 2018.

Eagle County real estate dollar volume in August is down 25% compared to last August in 2017. However, the year to date dollar volume total is down just 4%. Transactions are also down in August with 190 sales compared to 226 in 2017, but are up year to date, 1,369 compared to 1,367.

Eagle and Gypsum had 31% of all transactions in August with 39 and 20 transactions respectively. Avon and East Vail were the other areas reaching double digit sales.

Highlights from August, 2018:
- Highest priced sales: $8,200,000 located in Spraddle Creek
- Highest price per square foot: $1,732 located in Northwoods Condo in Vail
- Multi-family average price per square foot in Eagle County: $642
- Average sales price in Eagle County: $951,770
- New unit sales: 7
